Shereen is a born and bred Londoner who found her way to Capoeira 10 years ago.

Coming from a varied sports background, and having tried athletics and other martial arts, she was still aspiring for something more than just movement, something that could give her a sense of connection to her roots, her history and culture. At LSC she found exactly that.

From her very first class, she never looked back. LSC gave her a place where culture, art, music and movement aren't just practiced, they're lived and loved.

Over the years, through every challenge and breakthrough, she found something she hadn't expected, a community, a family, a new language, and an art form she is completely devoted to.

She is so grateful for the love and dedication her Mestres have poured into the school, and into her journey. Without that investment, she wouldn't be where she is today.

LSC isn't just where she trains, it's where she belongs.

Carolina began Capoeira at around five years old and is now an adult. With over 25 years of Capoeira, and having been exposed to the art form even before birth, she continues to practise Capoeira today while actively supporting the LSC.

For Carolina, the LSC is home, it is her family, her culture, and a deeply personal space that holds great meaning in her life.

She has absorbed the teachings and styles of Mestre Marcos and Mestre Silvia while also developing her own distinctive approach.

Dedicated to the art form, Capoeira has shaped her values of respect, resilience, determination, and skill, qualities instilled and continually reinforced by her Mestres.

Faisal has been part of the LSC for over 20 years. Capoeira is a deeply symbolic part of his life, and as he says himself, “Capoeira found me.”

He began practising after a dream in which he saw his grandmother in a playful, joyful moment. Around the same time, he discovered Capoeira, and it quickly became something meaningful in his life. During a challenging period in his early adult years, Capoeira gave him the strength to persevere, continue, and stay resilient.

Faisal holds deep respect and gratitude for his Mestres, whom he sees as a blessing, people who genuinely care for him. He approaches Capoeira in a spiritual way and carries forward the values of respect, discipline, and integrity that they have shared with him.

As he puts it, “Capoeira saved me.”

Professor Faisal

Daniela's journey in Capoeira started when, moved by the wish of doing more than just a sport, and a deep admiration for the history and culture of Capoeira, she did her first class at the LSC almost 10 years ago.

That day she fell in love with the art form, and although it was a challenging level of physical activity for her at the time, she was determined to improve and never stopped training ever since.

She found in the LSC a place where she could learn and develop her Capoeira in all its elements, the movement, the music, the history and storytelling, and perhaps most importantly, she found a community where everyone is supported and encouraged to work towards their best, regardless of the level they are starting at.
